Asrebeb’s story is based on notes from a live interview conducted at Joy Village in Spring 2018. A few details come from a version of the story published on the Hamlin.org website, but in instances when the web version of the story conflicted with what Asrebeb told me, through a translator, I went with what she herself had said.
