“Woodcut illustrations…”

A woodcut illustration appeared in the Republican Banner (Gettysburg, PA), November 26, 1833, p.3. The accompanying story indicates that it was originally published in the New Haven Herald (no date given).

The image included in the printed book first appeared as an illustration in Bible Readings for the Home Circle (1889), p. 66, is titled “Meteoric Shower of Nov. 13, 1833.” It is signed, but the artist’s name is illegible.
