This is my characterization of the next stage of the evolution of the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital, which would come to include five smaller satellite facilities. It is derived from interviews with the hospital’s then-chief medical officer, Fekade Ayenachew, Catherine Hamlin, and doctors at one of the satellite hospitals some hours south of Addis Ababa, which I visited in 2018.
